    Types of lathes (turning chisels)


    Spindle Roughing Gouges
    A tool for initial turning of an uneven surface or a square section of material into a basic cylindrical or conical shape. It is intended for longitudinal (spindle) turning only.

    Spindle Gouges
    Hollow tool for creating large shapes and small details.
    One of the most commonly used tools in spindle turning.
    Spindle Continental - Europe-origin gouge with a uniform wall thickness that increases gouge strength under heavy stress. The larger dimensions of these flutes can also be used for roughing.

    Skew
    Standard
    A rectangular cross-section tool with a beveled edge for creating large shapes and small details. Another of the most commonly used tools in spindle turning.

    Oval
    A tool with a lenticular cross-section body for better movement along the rest during spindle turning.

    Round
    A circular cross-section tool with a light body, highly maneuverable, suitable for creating fine details.

    Parting Tool
    A tool for dividing material, creating grooves, tenons and fine details.

    Bowl Gouges
    A deep groove tool specially designed for turning across wood grain. It is used, for example, in the production of bowls and other hollow objects.
    Suitable for both large removals and fine finishing work.

    Flat (Scraper)
    Tool for cleaning and finishing work in both spindle and face turning. Differently shaped blade according to the specific operation.
